THE COMMUNIVERSITY SPACE

Ice Works offers a larger community space that is focused on learning and practical skill development, the building houses a number of different projects & programs throughout the year.

It is home to “Fixable Community Maker-Space”, FLOAT CAAMP (Communiversity of Applied Arts Mentor Pilot) and a small co-working office. It also hosts part of the “Feral MBA” Program once a year. There are also two rooms which can be used for exhibitions and the front yard on Carpenter Street offers a large outdoor space with a soon to be established community food garden.

Ice Works has also been used in the past for summer Sunday markets, concerts, cinema and theatre performance as well as hosting many community run workshops. It has also been the production hub for the spectacular “Lakes Lights” lantern making, which has been a highlight of the “East Gippsland Winter Festival” over the past few years!

It is an ever-changing and reimagining evolution of what an art driven community space can be and provides a wonderful and vibrant space for locals and visitors to come together and embrace the diversity of creative practice.
